So, I see in the Globe and Mail that …
… “Canada is the only G7 country to draw on a supply of COVID-19 vaccines meant primarily for developing countries, according to new data released Wednesday.“
I checked other sources and both the CBC and CTV News reported on it, too, albeit without the emphasis on the fact that the COVAX programme is intended to help developing countries (not Canada) to get vaccines.
I have only one little question: can you imagine how almost every media outlet would have reacted if Stephen Harper was still prime minister? Do you still think that there is a not a nearly all-pervasive anti-Conservative / pro-Liberal bias in the media? Almost any PM except Justin Trudeau would be, very rightfully, pilloried for failing to secure adequate vaccine supplies for Canada and then, to try to cover up his (or her) ineptitude, raiding the supplies intended for less developed countries. But Justin Trudeau is still the media’s darling and most journalists and editors will still look for new ways to excuse his endless series of blunders.

Not all the media, of course, there is a strong, vocal independent media in Canada ~ print, online and and broadcast outlets ~ that tells the truth and is highly critical of Prime Minister Trudeau, but most too many media outlets are little more than arms of the Liberal Party‘s PR agencies and to many so-called journalists are little more than stenographers for the PMO.
