So, I saw this in the Hill Times:

It is, Abbas Rana says, being seen by some observers as “an “unofficial kick off” of the next federal election campaign.”

The COVID-19 pandemic rages, but we are at zero vaccine deliveries, Parliament has shuttered for seven weeks, US President Biden has just pulled the plug on an important Canadian project, the Chinese are still practicing hostage diplomacy and Justin Trudeau thinks Canada needs a general election?

While some senior Liberals say it was just a regular monthly meeting, Mr Rana reports that “Three people who were present at the Monday meeting said it was news to them that these meetings have been happening on a monthly basis. A fourth source said that he did not attend the Monday meeting but did attend a meeting a few months ago. He also said he never received any information that would indicate that the party has been holding regular monthly meetings.

But there is still a way to go, the report says that: “The Hill Times’ Laura Ryckewaert reported last week that the five major parties have nominated 170 candidates across the country. The Conservatives have nominated 120, the most of any party, the Liberals 43, the NDP five, and Bloc Québécois two.” The Conservatives appear to be a bit more ready than the Liberals.

But, really, why an election at all?

Justin Trudeau was just re-elected 15 months ago with a strong minority which he can easily sustain because Jagmeet Singh’s NDP is NOT ready for an election. It may not be wise to hold on to a minority for four years but calling Canadians to the polls in the middle of a pandemic seems a bit risky … to the voters, above all. So, really, why?

Well, first, he saw that some provincial premiers went to the polls last year and converted their minorities into solid majorities. If Blaine Higgs and John Horgan can do it, he must be saying to himself, why can’t I?

Second, he says, he has an agenda, his own version of a Great Reset for Canada., based, I think, on the the United Nations‘ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Third, and I suspect this is the main reason why he needs an election that returns him with a majority government is that he is still trying to cover up his and his family’s involvement with the WE Charity

… and I guess that there is is something in the pile of heavily redacted documents that he released just before proroguing parliament last year that hints that there may be something more than just an ethical violation here.

If Canada is really going to be forced into a general election in the spring or summer of 2021, in the midst of a global pandemic and a failing vaccination campaign then I suggest that it will be cover up serious political, potentially even worse, wrongdoing rather than to advance a socio-economic agenda for Canadians.

If Canada is really going to be forced into an election in 2021 then more and more and more Canadians must, as they did in 2019, turn away from the Liberals and vote FOR Canada, vote FOR Erin O’Toole’s principled, ethical, responsible, mature Conservative Party of Canada.
