Good news …

… and well done to Trade Minister Mary Ng because CBC News reports that “Negotiations between Canada and the United Kingdom to hammer out the terms of their post-Brexit trade have concluded, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a video released to the media Saturday morning.

This is an important vital first step in helping Britain and Canada to prosper. Britain needs North American access and Canada needs access to another of the world’s top-ten economies.

Another useful step will be for Britain to join the TPP next year. That should be used as a springboard to jump-start deeper (than just trade) CANZUK negotiations aimed at bringing four like-minded liberal democracies who are also traditional allies, closer together in many areas.
