I see a report by Bryan Passifiume, in the Toronto Sun, in which he, very correctly, credits Blacklock’s Reporter with breaking the story, which says that “Canada Border Services Agency officers are getting new powers to immediately turn back those who cross into Canada illegally.“
The order, he says, was put into force by cabinet earlier this week and it will allow officials to immediately return illegal border crossers to American soil, and if required, to U.S. authorities.
Staff said that ““Should there be some individuals who choose not to comply with the direction to return to the United States, the amendments would authorize the Canada Border Services Agency to be able to issue a removal order at a port of entry to the agency may immediately remove the prohibited individual if necessary” … [because] … simply quarantining illegal immigrants — as suggested March 17 by Public Safety Minister Bill Blair — was “insufficient.”“
For over three years, since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s incredibly stupid and juvenile post on social media …
… which was an immature cheap-shot in response to President Donald J Trump’s threats to some immigrants and which, effectively, invited illegal migrants to flock to Canada for a free ride at the front of the queue. Ever since, police and border agents have been hamstrung by Liberal government policies that forced them to welcome illegal migrants, even to help them cross the border, because that’s what Justin Trudeau wanted. It has taken the COVID-19 crisis to make someone ~ likely NOT the prime minister, himself ~ take some responsible action for a change.
The prime minister said this is a temporary measure. It shouldn’t be. A new, more responsible government has to make it permanent, and there is a pressing requirement to make the entire border subject to the Canada-USA safe third country agreement ~ allowing border agents to return anyone to the USA no matter where or how they cross the border, regardless of their intent to claim asylum. A new government also needs to round-up ALL the irregular migrants who have arrived since 2017 and concentrate them in a safe, secure facility ~ I, previously, suggested that the large military complex at Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu can be repurposed for this ~ while the government makes proper arrangements to deport more than 99% of them.
The only question for the Trudeau Liberals is: what took so long?
