Buried in a Globe and Mail story about making more ventilators and medical masks available ~ very important ~ is this:
“Mr. Trudeau also announced that the Canada-U.S. border will close to non-essential travel at midnight Friday and both countries will turn back asylum seekers crossing the border at unofficial entries.“
All I can say is: it’s about time and it is months, actually it is three years overdue.
Now, the next step is to round up all the tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of ‘irregular’ migrants who crossed into Canada since Prime Minister Trudeau’s ill-considered invitation in January 2017 and detain them in a camp ~ I still think that the military installations at St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, just a few miles South East of Montreal and a bit North of the Roxham Road crossing is a good place for such a camp ~ until they can be deported.
