So, I see, in a report in the Globe and Mail, that “Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has expelled Jody Wilson-Raybould from the caucus Wednesday evening for criticizing his role in attempting to shelve the criminal prosecution of SNC-Lavalin.“
It’s a dumb move by a weak
leader prime minister who is afraid of two principled women. He has now given them carte blanche to criticize him and his leadership control of the Party. I repeat, that I believe Dr Philpott when she says that her Liberal Party “needs to be the best version of the Liberal Party,” and this makes it look like Justin Trudeau is, to be very charitable, second best.
I would remind our man-child prime minister of the words of a grown-up leader, US President Lyndon B Johnson, who, in 1971, when speaking about J Edgar Hoover, said:
President Johnson hated FBI Director Hoover and even feared him a bit, just as I’m sure that Justin Trudeau hates and fears Dr Philpott and Ms Wilson-Raybould. The difference is that Lyndon Johnson understood that Hoover could be, somewhat, contained from within, but was incredibly dangerous if expelled from the centre. I suspect that Prime Minister Trudeau is going to learn, the hard way, what President Johnson understood, intuitively, because he, Lyndon Johnson, was a functioning adult … not a trust-fund kid who is as dumb as a bag of hammers.
