Joyce Murray is in

joyce-head-shot-20140925-2-200x200So, I see that Joyce Murray has been appointed as President of the Treasury Board, this is, as the CBC says, “the third cabinet shuffle in three months for the prime minister, after a domino effect of resignations starting with former Treasury Board president Scott Brison, then Wilson-Raybould from her new posting at veterans affairs, then Philpott. Brison has retired from federal politics, and the two women have expressed their intention to stay in the Liberal caucus despite leaving Trudeau’s top team.” Ms Murray is, the report says, “is one of 34 Liberal MPs who survived the party’s rout in the 2011 election,” and I was a bit surprised that she was left out of earlier cabinets, even though she is vehemently anti-pipeline, which put her offside with Team Trudeau which wanted to balance its green agenda with one pipeline to tidewater.
