Another good move by Team Trudeau

I hope that no-one who reads this blog thinks that I have any regard at all for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his team, but every now and again ~ rather like a stopped clock, twice a day ~ they must get things right, despite themselves.

I see in the Globe and Mail, that “Canada is imposing sanctions on Saudi Arabian nationals linked to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi … [and] … Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland is announcing the move at a G20 summit in Buenos Aires … [and, again] … The sanctions freeze any assets the targets might have in Canada and says they cannot enter the country. The United States has already done something similar … [and, further] … Freeland says the sanctions are designed to target individuals who, are in the opinion of the government, responsible for or complicit in the writer’s October killing.

This is a step in the right direction, but it’s just a small step … the bigger step that Canada needs to take, the step that I hope Andrew Scheer will promise to take after he forms a government in 2019, is to reset the review and approval process for the Energy East pipeline, despite the objections of some politicians in some provinces.
