Ships, yet again … some more good news

I have, recently, reported that the MV Asterix has made it to Halifax to begin sea trials prior to joining the Royal Canadian Navy as a uniquely leased and crewed interim supply and refuelling vessel.

These pictures, with many thanks to Royal Canadian Navy Today and Yesterday, show Asterix and HMCS Toronto doing “dry fit” tests while docked to make sure that the refuelling gear will all work as planned …

… all appears to be working and I’m sure we all look forward to seeing Asterix in action and I, for one, hope this government will develop enough sense to go ahead with procuring her sister ship, the MV Obelix.
