The media is full of one story today: 230+ officials, military officers, civil servants and contractors were forced to sign lifetime gag orders (non disclosure agreements) regarding the fighter jet replacement issue. Why? What’s so secret?

Many senior officials (including former assistant deputy ministers in DND and very senior military people who held very, very high security clearances) cannot recall any “lifetime” non disclosure agreements nor, for any project, quite so many. There are many existing rules and regulations that remind officials, military officers and contractors to not disclose military or commercial confidences.

Modern Librano$It begs the question: what chicanery is the Trudeau regime covering up? Which lie are they afraid will get out to the media and the people? That there is no “capability gap” that requires an interim buy of Super Hornets? That the whole process is rigged to favour Boeing over Lockheed Martin? That the object of the exercise is to simply not spend anything on defence until it is too late and until it is someone else’s problem?

Something doesn’t pass the sniff test.
