The Arctic

A few days ago I commented on the fact that Prime Minister Trudeau seems less interested in protecting the Arctic that Prime Minister Harper very obviously was.

Just in case anyone thinks the Arctic is big and empty I offer this “screen capture” from Canada’s  Marine Security Operations Centre East which was posted by Rear Admiral John Newton, commander of the Atlantic fleet …

… there’s a lot going on up there and we need to be able to detect, identify, track, intercept and deal with everything that enters or approaches our territories, the contiguous waters and the airspace over both; anything less means that we have surrendered sovereignty.
