Storm clouds

A couple of days ago I noted that “Barack Obama will not be president for much longer,” suggesting that the very friendly relations Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seems to have with him will be pretty meaningless when an even more protectionist and nationalist-nativist like Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump occupies the White House.

“Storm clouds soon will gather “was the opening line of a 1957 “rock-a-billy” hit song by Buddy Knox; now the Globe and Mail‘s David Perkins uses a similar theme to sum up the prime minister’s dilemma even more neatly …

… there has to be more, a lot more, to Canada/US relations than “Sunny Ways” and some sort of “bromance” between two like minded (and aimless) politicians.
